Wawatay Consulting Services

Consultancy and Change Management

We provide consulting tailored to the specific needs of Indigenous communities in the realm of change management. Our approach promotes community-driven solutions that honour traditional knowledge, values, and practices, creating sustainable frameworks that support your organization’s mandate. Our services are offered through an Indigenous worldview and results are reflective of the strength of our cultures, languages and traditional ways.

Conflict Resolution

Navigating the complexities in your work can lead to conflicts at various levels. Our team specializes in conflict resolution, facilitating open dialogue and collaboration to find equitable and culturally appropriate solutions. We prioritize restorative practices that heal relationships and respect community knowledge and practices.

Child Welfare Jurisdiction

Recognizing the importance of sovereignty and self-determination, we work closely with communities to establish and strengthen their jurisdictional frameworks. Our efforts focus on empowering communities to reclaim authority over child welfare practices, integrating cultural traditions, and promoting the health and well-being of children and families.

With regards to Indigenous child welfare this is a world of limitless possibilities, where the journey is significant as the destination, and where every task, event, and meeting is an opportunity to change the lives of Indigenous children, youth, families and communities. Bill C-92 provides the pathway for Indigenous Governing Bodies (IGBs) to assert their inherent rights and restore the care of children back to communities.

Strategic Planning

We assist communities in developing strategic plans that align with their organizational values and goals. Through inclusive processes, we help identify goals, assess resources, and design actionable pathways that reflect community priorities. Our strategic planning services are deeply rooted in Indigenous perspectives, ensuring that the voices of community members guide the process.
